Scoble spreads the word on Sinterklaas
To my big surprise Robert Scoble and his wife Maryam visited Amsterdam this week. While reading the RSS feed of his weblog in the evening of Monday 4th December I was horrified to find out that Robert was organising a geek-dinner in Amsterdam….that night! While having spend all day in Amsterdam and now back home again, to get news like this is really bad luck. I should have more closely followed my RSS feeds!
Anyway, please find a post on the dinner (including picture) on Peter van Tees weblog.
So, last night I revisited Roberts blog and found that he had frequently been blogging about his stay in the Netherlands. I especially liked his brief explanation of the Sinterklaas party that is celebrated here in the Netherlands and how it differs from Santa Claus (do not forget the comments too!). I guess that given Roberts big share of international web traffic our Sinterklaas got more exposure than a 20 million promotion campaign. And that with one single blog post.
To close this post: reading through the comments on Roberts posts on his Amsterdam trip you get a real good picture of Dutch people active in the blogosphere (well at least those who read Scoble and commented there).
