Checking out AdSense

Last few weeks I have been focusing my rare reading time on Google and its AdSense and Adwords programme.

Although probably not new to most of you here, for me it has provided some valuable insights into the inner workings of Google and in the ways that people have monetised their web sites.

A particular pleasant read was a free E-book by Jennifer Laycock entitled “Zero Dollars, a Little Talent and Thirty Days”. This book is based on a 30 days article series, in which Jennifer Laycock, editor-in-chief at Search Engine Guide, tells the story of her 30 day adventure of starting a successful online business in just thirty days without spending a dime out of her pocket. The book provides value information about:

  • finding a niche where you can be successful
  • using a blog to drive traffic and sales
  • earning extra profit through affiliate programs
  • launching a viral marketing campaign
  • making use of organic search engine optimization
  • planning for a public relations pitch
  • networking with other business owners

In addition to all I learned from Jennifer’s book, I have ordered a book from Eric Giguere with the enticing title Make Easy Money With Google.

So, what am I doing this for? Well, I actually have a plan for two new web sites which might just be a perfect AdSense testing base after enough content and traffic has been generated.

Now, if I only can find some time…
