Kick-off at ING's Our Virtual Holland

A bit earlier than presented at the official website, Wichert van Engelen of ING Retail Venturing held his opening speech (in audio and text) on the Our Virtual Holland sims in Second Life. I guess around around 40 people were present.

Wichert (Sidney Market) presented the people who have been choosen to start in Our Virtual Holland with their “venture”. Here is the list:

  • Rembrandt Yoshikawa (Huub): sending e-cards
  • Jacco Jackalope (Jacco and Guido): a temp agency for Second Life builders
  • Marvin Benelli (Rene): a toerists guide
  • Indira Bekkers: selling Dutch traditional costums
  • Ashwin Gopi: opening a Suriname restaurant
  • Henne Pauli: starts the trendy Holland Future Café
  • Joris Vos: bringing Radio Orange on the airwaves
  • C. Hoornweg: will start selling mobile phones
  • Max van Riel: a dating service
  • Hans Holder and Naomi Talon: designers of Real Life gardens that will use SL to show them to customers (updated)
  • Judith Cummings: starts a publishing company
  • Art Canning (Mat): brings “art against water”
  • Adan Edelman (Ruben): introduces the Judish-Palestinian centre
  • Misterno Janus (Johan): will start a charity centre
  • Waterliefje Wunderle (Manon): will show her private art collection
  • Firebird (Zoltan): will be building an low-energy house

The easter-egg contest
Then there was the exciting easter egg contest. Wow! Everybody started seaching the sims like crazy for the three available egg’s. And guess what: I found one! I found the egg in a small pond near by the windmill. Now I am entitled to a free home for the rest of 2007!!!!!!

After this succesfull pre-official-introduction, there will be a formal introduction of ING in Second Life on the 30th of April, a special holiday here in the Netherlands, also called Queensday.
