What if Second Life gets Skype?
Ok, so you can chat or IM in Second Life. But what if there would be Skype-like functionality? Wouldn’t that be great?
Imagine you walk into a crowd and as you approach you start to hear people speaking…and you can join the conversation. I am sure it would pose sort of a technical challenge. However for people that are not really fast typers or people that just sit on the couch, looking at their giant LCD screen connected to their mediacenter and hooked up to Second Life, this Skype-like functionality would be a great enhancement.
Anyone aware of developments in these directions?

That is apparently being tested as we speak, I interviewed a few folks deep in secondLife (from electric sheep and Linden Lab) on my podcast, the episode is here, and they do mention that VOIP in secondLife is in beta – Co-Creative Business Show – Episode 1
Cheers,
