33 days and 33 Wiki's
Ok, Neville and Fred beat me to it, but I got to mention this one out here, because it is so related to the subject that has been keeping me busy for almost a year now: wiki’s.
During 33 days, Eastwikkers.com, the blogging vehicle of Eastwick Communications, will feature a selection and discussion of 33 different wiki’s. The main goal is to describe a particular wiki, why it was selected (why they liked it!) and what we can all learn from the wiki.
There have already been four wiki-days so far, showing a considerable diversity of the Wikisphere:
- Day 1: Wikilaw: the goal here is to build the largest open-content legal resource in the world.
- Day 2: Autistic spectrum: provides information on autism for friends and family of the autistic.
- Day 3: This Might Be a Wiki: a fan wiki dedicated to collecting information about the rock band They Might Be Giants (makes me wonder: what about a Billy Joel Wiki?)
- Day 4: Fluwikie (mind the “e”!): dedicated to “help local communities prepare for and perhaps cope with a possible influenza pandemic”.
It is a nice initiative, although the analysis provided, appears a bit brief to my taste. Personally, I would like some more information on the problems faced during different phases of growing the wiki’s, about coping with vandalism or about the software that the wiki’s run on.
Still, I am very curious about tomorrow’s selection.
